Dear Community Member Olivia,

I received the same emails over a course of the last three days, basically saying the same thing. It's telling me that my account has been temporarily limted in the first email and that it want me to download and extract a form and then provide personal account information in order to restore my account to it original state and this was all being requested because of new security measures paypal was taking and it was all part of paypals regular screening procedures and that they noticed issues within my account and that my account was trying to be accessed by a third party and they received a report of unauthorized credit card use associated with my account. ect, ect, ect... ( PAYPAL DOES NOT, AND WILL NOT DO THIS) I can assure you that this is a fraudulent email, Spam, Spyware or worse someone trying to hack into your account and you should not and never reply nor click on any links associated with any of these emails that are being sent to you. If  indeed you ever have any questions or second thoughts about these type of matters you should always contact paypal first before you act, never give these criminals the upper hands. Hope that this helped somewhat with your concerns.

I received the same message!  It looks very suspicious to me, there are a lot of misspelled and incomplete words!  I have been trying to contact PayPal but nobody seems to get back with me!

Hi folks!

Any time you receive a suspicious email, you can forward it to spoof@paypal.com. You can also open a fresh browser window and type in paypal.com (rather than click any links) and log into your account. If you log into your account this way and you are not prompted to provide information or resolve issues, then the email is pretty definitely fake.

I hope this helps!

I received this same message tonight, 02/14/11! I used to get these all of the time several years ago. Any time I get such a message I ALWAYS go to PAYPAL and check to see if they did, indeed, send such a message.

I received an e-mail today from supposedly Paypal which asked me to confirm a transaction from a certain e-mail address and transaction number, click on resolution center and when I clicked it asked me for my credit card information and address, phone number, etc.  Is this a legitimate e-mail from you guys?  I really do not think so, but please let me know.  thanks

Before you forward fraudulent emails to PayPal, go to the bottom of the email you received and click on the choice that will show all address headers. This will help them backtrack where the scam mail came from.
