Received money, but balance is less than what was received?

Hello, I received money as a gift 130.00 to be exact nad checking my balance at the moment i realized its only around 125.90. Why is it lower than the amount that was given to me?

Because paypal nickel and dimes you to death. They take out fees for everything even if you aren't a seller. The amount you lost was their fee.
I would suggest that next time have a money order or cashiers check sent to you.

ktw2323- A couple options as to why you were assessed a fee, which is the only reason you would receive less. Either it wasn't actually a gift, it was sent as a 'service' or 'goods' which would have a fee, or the sender used their credit card and decided that you would pay the fee. If you send a personal payment using a card, you have the option to pay the fee yourself or have the receiver pay it, and it looks like they had you pay it.
