I made a $10 purchase and have made the same purchase before and never been charged for it but now all of a sudden I make the same $10 purchase and get charged 3 separate times for $1 just wondering what the heck that is about?

Welcome to the boards!

Each time you add or edit a credit card, PayPal has to verify the information provided on the card.  This process involves a temporary $1.00 authorization charge to verify the billing address, card number, expiration date, etc.

These are not permanent charges, and will be released back to you by your card issuer.

The card issuer determines when they are released; if you need them released quickly, I would recommend contacting the card issuer.

Hope this helps,

Adrian
