Seller sent invoice, did not send item. How do I open a dispute for a refund?

Seller claimed he would ship item and sent me an invoice which I paid for but I never received an item.  How can I open a dispute to get my refund for not receiving goods? Am I still protected under buyer protection? I knew something was fishy when he wanted to make the transaction off of eBay..

Just posted about the same problem... You can file a dispute by going to the Resolution Centre and then link it to the invoice/transaction number... I'm hoping Paypal will cover/resolve this as its over £600 I could lose!

What are the chances of me getting my money back? This is so frustrating and stressful. I feel robbed and fooled!  I don't understand how these guys get away with saying they will sell goods, send me a bill and just runaway with my money and never respond to anything! It's stressful 😞

Whilst paypal do protect you with buyer protection for all sites I'm afraid you can lose that protection if you buy an ebay item but do the transaction off ebay.

Hopefully all will be ok, but don't ever let a seller do that again.
