Hi there, I recently purchased an item for £49.99 from ebay, paid using paypal. This was last friday, anyways I checked my online bank account today and the money has been taken out however there is now also a direct debit been setup on my account to pay £49.99 on a 2 weekly basis to the ebay seller? What the heck? I never agreed/authorised such things.
Can I just go ahead and cancel this direct debit etc and how do I go about getting it looked into further, who set up the direct debit, paypal?
Many thanks!
Danny.

Are you sure??
Because when you add your bank account to your paypal account you always set up a direct debit otherwise paypal can't get the funds from your bank account when you pay a buyer.
In that list of direct debits the last payment always shows but that does not mean it is a regular payment.
eg the last seller i paid was an item for £32 so in my direct debits under pay-pal is £32 but that does not mean it will be paid every month etc.

You can't direct debit is always the default paying method.
BUT you can click on "other funding sources" during the payment process to select a card instead.
