Hey folks.
I just brought a watch outside of the UK, and looking at the sellers shipping they state the following "When available, we offer FREE duties paid shipping for all EU watch orders. That means your watch is shipped directly to your door with no extra customs fees. For watches that don't have the DDP option available, we offer Free Shipping via First Class Mail." Now to me that means that if i am in the EU then they are going to pay DDP and i have a hasell free experience but this is not the case.
I have recieved a customs charge, i have then contacted the seller who is, in my oppinion fobbing me of first it was:
We do our best to minimize the chances of you getting hit by Customs- from under-declaring the value for your benefit & making the packaging small & light as possible, but sometimes parcels get stopped.
We do cover the cost of International Shipping, but we cannot cover the tax or fees that may be issued by customs.
Then they have tried this:
Unfortunately, the watch you ordered was out of stock in our EU fulfillment center. We do state on the site that we will ship the watch with duties paid, when available and unfortunately, in this case, we had to ship the watch from our fulfillment center in the United States.
So to me i have incured a charge i should not of done is there anything i can do with paypal or not?

They stated >>
When available, we offer FREE duties paid shipping for all EU watch orders.
So in your case it was not available, they made no guarantees.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

You are right they have added "when avaliable" but that does not spcify any reason why it would not be, it could mean only certain countries get DDP paid where others might not for a reason. But wouldnt a good company tell you that you are going to incur a charge?
Anyway lets look at the other part "Unfortunately, the watch you ordered was out of stock in our EU fulfillment center." Ok, so because the watch is not in the EU it had to come from the US and because of thet they could not pay the duty for some unknown reason? Ok, then why can i buy the watch on Amazon and have it delivered on Sunday?
Too me they are using the "when" as a scape goat meaning they can use it on any order they like, its like me opening a business and saying something is in stock then emailing you saying "when its avaliable we will send it out to you as soon as possible".
