USE AMERICAN EXPRESS PAYPAL CANNOT HELP YOU

I GOT RIPPED OFF BY WWW.WIFIROBIN.COM.  They sent me a totally broke and used product and then i opened a dispute and returned to product to them in HOng Kong.  Well it took forever for a response and by the time I tried to escalate, PAYPAL cut me off before the 20 day deadline.  They told me Aug 2nd and so I waited until midnite on Aug 1st and they said "sorry your too late" and the dispute was closed.  After that, wifirobin closed all contact with me and all my emails were rejected by them.  I checked and i paid by Bank account so i didn't use my AMEX but if i did I could have gotten my money back ($146.99) but since i trusted paypal, i got the shaft.  I am removing my bank account info and using AMEX and never using paypal again if I can help it.  Anyone else have a similar experience?  I guess there's nothing I can do but report it to consumerfraud.org.

Now, for what ACTUALLY happened;

 

You didn't read the User Agreement, which states quite clearly that you have no protection for "not as described" claims if the item is not bought on ebay.

 

You bought off ebay.

 

The item was damaged.

 

You filed a "not as described" DISPUTE (not a claim), which Paypal allows so that you have a chance to work it out with the seller.

 

At the end of the time period for the dispute, it closed automatically because you cannot upgrade it to a claim.

 

 

 

I agree that you should have used AMEX - people should ALWAYS use credit cards to buy online.
