I like to play a few games via facebook. I've spent money on them through paypal a couple of times recently and everytime I've made these purchases, in order for them to be authorize, I must provide my paypal password. This usually completes the transaction. Well, the other day I was playing this game PetTales. My 5 year old asked if she could play, I figured it would be ok, so I sat behind her and began folding laundry. A few minutes later she says "Mommy, look at the money!". She had gone and inadvertantly purchased in game funds through my paypal. Obviously she needed no password in order to do this and of course, I freaked out.
I contacted the game, they told me to contact FB and THEY told me to contact paypal. I've opened claims over them, but I'm still worried that I wont get my money back. She charged over $300 (I only had $4 in available funds on Paypal at the time) which has resulted in me being over $500 overdrawn in the bank.
I just dont understand why a password wasnt necessary this particular time, when it was all those other times. Other people that I've talked to feel the same way as I do and were just as outraged. Its a weird situation, I know. People have told me that sometimes FB saves that information and if thats the case, its just as outrageous! Isnt that why we get paypal accounts anyway? To protect our money?...
Has this happened to anyone else? Do I have any hope in the world of getting my $$ back?
