My situation

I'll try and keep this short and sweet. Won and paid for a parts LCD TV on eBay, Sent the seller numerous emails thru both eBay and private emails about shipping dates with no reply. opened a dispute here then got a call from paypal regarding this issue, we both agreed that the seller was non-responsive and that the phone number provided by eBay was either bogus or just not being answered. the paypal rep assured me that my funds would be repayed to my paypal account in a couple of days, and to go ahead and escalate to a claim, which i did. that was over 8 days ago. still no funds. paypal has placed an oct. 2 deadline for the seller to respond. the smart money says he won't. how long after the 2nd should i expect to see my money? and why would paypal try and be proactive, (that's what the survey i took called the phone call from paypal), and then not be? to me a couple of days is 2, not 8, but whatever. With all the horror stories I'm reading on here I'm beginning to think I'm about to get bent over twice without the courtesy of a reach around.

It's hard to say why PP does certain things but in your situation you will more than likely have to wait until the 3rd to see a refund in your account.  The nice thing is eBay should cover you 100% even if the seller has closed shop and tried to run with any money he/she may have had.  It's a pain in the rear but the bright side is at least you did not get pooched in the end.

No you do not need to open a dispute/claim with eBay. It's one or the other. I don't believe you'll even be able to if you tried.

It sounds like you have nothing to worry about it in terms of getting your money back. Unfortunately you just have to wait out the time. The Paypal rep might have told you a "couple" of days but the black and white policy is they allow 10 days before they can actually close the case and refund you. So just wait a couple of days and you'll be fine.

Paypal does the best they can....however there is certain deadlines they have to follow as well.  And i was also confused so did u recieve the parts tv then?  more then likely if they havent responded to any of your emails then i dont think you have much to worry about....i mean cuz im sure that they wont respond within the 8 days either!
