Delivery Confirmation shows pkg's as being delivered but I never physically received them...

Hello,

I would like someone, anyone's really, two cents on the following situation:

I had placed two orders with an internet independent small business in late August. The USPS Delivery Confirmation numbers for those two (separate) packages showed both as being out for delivery last Tuesday, 9/6. The final status for both packages showed as 'Delivered.' However, up to this point, I still have not received anything. I strongly believe both were misdelivered to another address. I called my neighborhood post office today and the employee informed me no packages in my name was at the post office.

What typically would happen in this type of situation? The vendor said if the post office could not help, out of courtesy they'd be happy to reship (mere courtesy and not genuine obligation?). I spoke with someone at PayPal yesterday and they said I can go ahead and file a dispute if I wanted.

Please offer your advice/experience/knowledge.

Thanks in advance!

Hi feifei, and welcome to the forums!

When you review the tracking online, does the destination zip code match your zip code? If not, then that's clearly a misdelivery. If the zip code matches yours, that's a little trickier.

If the vendor is being cooperative, it's almost always better to go that route to start. A merchant who's willing to help might be offended if you bypass them and open a dispute, and then you're cutting off one potential avenue of resolution. If the merchant is not cooperative or you're running dangerously close to the end of the 45 day period for filing a dispute, then you can go ahead and open up a dispute in the Resolution Center.

I hope this helps!
