Who should pay for returning shipping?

I bought Dyson hair drier on eBay and paid by PayPal.

The box was original. And I didn't open it since it was a present. And (it was my mistake) a gave a positive feedback (the box was original and sealed).

One month later the box was opened. And I found cheap fake inside 😞

I was not able to file a claim on eBay. And I filed the claim on PayPal. The decision is to send it back to seller for full refund. And seller provided address in China! But the item was sent to me from US. It is really expensive to sent the item to China. And looks like I have to pay for shipping back this cheap fake 😞

I don't see options in the case to ask questions. I can only provide tracking number.

Do I really have to pay for shipping in my case?

IF YOU OAID THROUGH PAYPAL AND HAVE THE "REFUND RETURN POSTAGE" SET UP, YOU WILL GET A REFUND ON POSTAGE FROM PAYPAL PROVIDED YOU FOLLOW THE EXACT CRITERIA FOR REFUNDED RETURNS FROM PAYPAL.  SEARCH IT IN THE CONTENT FOR FURTHER INFO.

In the event of a dispute you choose your seller and not Paypal so you need to bear in mind possible return trackable costs before you go ahead and buy from that seller / country.

Paypal state this >>
IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

Although they will compensate you for some of the cost if you have activated this at some point before you made that transaction.

You also have the option to do a chargeback via your card issuer instead of a Paypal dispute if you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card.
