I am trying to start a thread that will include people who have recently been scammed. If you have ordered a product online and did not receive it, or received an item that was not as described and filed a case with paypal that was found not to be in your favor because the seller provided fake tracking information or a phony product please post below.

I purchased a swimming pool online. I did not receive the pool. I filed a complaint yesterday. Immediately the shipper provided a tracking number from USPS for a delivery made yesterday. Upon calling USPS I found that the item that was shipped weighed 11 oz and was not sent to my address, but another in town. Paypal closed my case and ruled in favor of the shipper. Paypal will not allow me to dispute or appeal the decision. They will not answer the phone at customer service due to COVID. Paypal is not honoring their policy and a class action lawsuit needs to be brought against them. My purchase was made with my Paypal card which I purposely used because I thought I had protection. Bank issuer has not been any more help.

Appreciate all replies which include your experience.

I am in the middle of disputing a PayPal payment because on March 31, 2020 I placed an order for 2 pairs of shoes from Xzz co ltd. The order was never received.  When I reached out to the company via email they sent me to another company.  That company then sent me to another company called PAIRMORE sent me an email with a tracking number so I waited. A few weeks later when the order didn't show up I decided to place a dispute with PayPal.
About two weeks after I placed the claim, I received "ONE SHOE" (not pair), in the mail. A day or so later, I received a notice from PayPal stating that the claim was closed because the company had provided a tracking number. Clearly this was very upsetting to me. I can not believe a company would send ONE SHOE (from China)...NOT ONE PAIR but only (1) Shoe. I have to say, the shoe is very nice and just as comfortable.  Why only one shoe made it in the shipment is truly baffling to say the least.

I again contacted PayPal to tell them the order was incomplete. Now, PayPal is requesting that I return the ONE SHOE back to the company which is in CHINA. As you know, the cost for returning the one shoe would probably be more than 3 times the amount of the original order. Doing business in this manner really gives overseas companies a bad name. All I really want is the matching shoe and a refund for the other pair.  If that can't be provided then at least refund my PayPal account in full for the $55.60 that they received but never delivered on.

I just sent the company another email and I am still hoping for an amicable resolution to this matter.

I thought PayPal would back me up but now I'm very hesitant about online shopping now because you never know where the company is located and if you will receive the order.  It's called taking chances even with a PayPal payment.
