Please Help - Limitation

Hello all, 3 years ago, we created a PayPal account for the family. We have been selling clothes and shoes in order to save money for my son. With our supervision, he has successfully sold many items and has money in the PayPal account. He recently tried adding his junior license as a source of identity and was given a permanent limitation. How do we go about getting all the money we’ve received from selling to another account? Can anyone help?

Paypal does not allow account holders under the age of 18.
PayPal asks for a birth date when you register so whilst you can make a PayPal account with false information the account will be subject to sending and receiving limits.
When you reach those limits you will be unable to verify your account so your account would be locked for further use.
Minors can’t enter legal contracts so you won’t have any recourse to get your money back.

I’m not sure if you’ll see this but I’ve been 18 for a couple months and submitted my drivers license as well as a pay stub. Do you think I’ll have any luck? I submitted them a couple hours ago. Again, I don’t think you’ll see this but if you do, any more help would be appreciated. As a response to your reply, I find it hard to believe PayPal does not support minors trying to make money. Ive bought and sold shoes and clothes for the last 2-3 years so its upsetting if they won’t allow me to access my money. It’s not much in my PayPal but it would be nice to get. Thanks

Paypal used to allow student accounts in the U.S but that was stopped a few years ago.

You have to be 18 to open a paypal account.

Sadly your account is fried, even though you are now 18 you would not be able to use an illegally opened account ever again.

HOWEVER if you are now 18 paypal normally allows you to open a new account (best check with them first) and then ask them to 'transfer' the funds to your new account for you.

Ok. I understand the whole terms and conditions about being 18. It’s been over 180 days since they limited my account. It says my money is waiting for me but I can accept or transfer to my bank account. Should I give them a call?

Edit: I meant to say I can’t accept the money

As i said you would not be able to withdraw from an illegally made account, that is a standard email they always send after 180 days.

Read the last line in my above post as that is what you should do.

But feel free to try and contact customer services to get the same advice if you don't believe me, no problem.

However the phones are non operational at the moment due to covid.
