PayPal is denying my refund request, saying I can’t prove I returned something

I bought a tool for about $200 from a Chinese company. 20 minutes later I decided against it and I requested an order cancellation. Chinese company, who said they would cancel any order with no charge within 24hrs, got back to me saying they already shipped it and billed me and it’s too late to cancel. They sent me a prepaid return label after my package arrived. I mailed it out using their label to an address in California. Tracking information shows it’s been delivered. Now the seller has refused to respond to any of my emails. I tried using another email address, which they will respond to, but stop once I mention my return. And now I find that they are deleting negative reviews off their website. I know I was playing with fire dealing with a Chinese company selling fake/cloned tools, but I expected PayPal to have some buyer protection. I have sent PayPal everything I have, copies of tracking information and The shipping label and my emails; and they deny my claim saying I can’t prove I returned it. What more do they want from me? A video of me putting it in the box and driving it to the post office? I’m fuming over this and can’t believe that I have to fight this hard to get my money back.

If you want paypal buyer protection then you have to file a dispute and then return it to the address that paypal gives you to prove delivery back to the seller.

You chose to go down that route yourself and used the sellers prepaid label, thats fine normally but not for China websites that send tat and do everything possibly to deny you a refund.

Wow, a merchant can very well a give you a return label to any ol' address, not giving two fudges about it. How brazen. Thought it couldn't get any lower but someone had to bust out the jack hammer. lol
