Opened a claim against me I selected partial refund but the full sum was deducted from my account?

Is this normal that the full some is taken from you by PayPal even when you select ‘partial refund’?

Thanks for reaching out on our Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear your attempt at a partial refund ended in a full refund. Unfortunately in this case, once a refund is completed it is final and cannot be reversed. The best suggestion I would have would be to work with the original sender of the funds to see if they can send what partial amount you did not want to refund back. You can send them an invoice or ask them to send you a personal payment, whatever works best for you both.
