Life size animated Grinch Scam

I ordered a life sized, animated Grinch from Eudamonia Co Ltd. Shows on PayPal as Eudaimoniac. AU and the order confirmation came from Audren Home. The Product description “ (50% OFF)Christmas Ornament The Lifesize Animated Grinch” but I received a Grinch stuffed doll that was 10” long and does nothing. Emails to the company got a reply the first couple times but ignored me once I told them I want a refund or send me what they advertised that I would get. I didn’t bother filing a dispute with PayPal as it wouldn’t do any good. I am out the $36.98 and learned a lesson...don’t trust advertisers on Facebook..FB sensors the posts their fact checkers don’t like, but let people be scammed with advertisers

Hi I had the exact same thing happen, it was through hunts-man.com and I paid extra for the animated one, I got a 40cm toy grinch. I opened a dispute through PayPal and the company said it would cost me more to ship it back, they offered me a 20% refund. I said no I want full amount. It’s wrong they can advertise under so many names. I am out of pocket $86 aud.

Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

1. No return address on the returns policy............thats because the site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) BUT they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost nearly always more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number............if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. No company address information.
4. Great looking items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.

HOWEVER you may still have the option to do a charge back if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card.
Also Paypal may contribute towards return costs IF you have activated the below link (if available in your country).

I had this too. Received a 30cm Green Penis looking thing. I raised a dispute and the Company sent an address for return (all in Chinese symbols) and then once received, I’d get a refund. I wasn’t having this so I phoned PayPal with the intention of requesting either a prepaid returns slip, or a credit for the return but I was left on hold while the customer services guy checked the case and he came back after 10 mins stating he had refunded the amount to my account. My advice is phone straight away.

Same here! PayPal is still “under investigation “ I bought it in mid October. Just yesterday 2 months later received the 12” grinch. I sent the receipt. No word yet from PayPal. I may just by pass them and file the dispute now with my credit card. But, I think I’m stuck with an overpriced mini grinch. I’ll be extra careful to make sure my purchases don’t come from China.
