BE AWARE!! Paypal will make you return item to China for refund even if it was shipped from the US

TLDR: Paypal wants me to send an item back to China even though it was shipped from the US. The address is also in Chinese characters and impossible to scribble down. Basically Paypal is now siding with the scammer rather than the buyer.

Backstory: I bought a pair of speaker from a seller on ebay "kokoyesgo" that was supposed to be a US seller. The speaker was shipped from NJ/PA by FedEx.

Well, turned out the speaker was faulty, and I contacted that seller immediately. He/She refused to acknowledge the defective item, made me play around with it, and only offered to refund pennies on the dollar. I was extremely patient with the seller and communicated with 'em back and forth for nearly a month.

Little did I know, the seller dragged it out so it went past the 30-day return window from ebay. They stopped communicating with me via email completely once the 30-day window passed.

Thus I contacted Paypal. I sent them literally everything. From the video clip of the defective speaker not working, to every single back and forth emails between me and the seller, to show that I was very understanding of the situation and compassionate toward the seller.

Even at this stage the seller "kokoyesgo" told me on ebay they'd refund me, yet on Paypal they replied that they wanted proof the speakers aren't working (which I already did in the back and forth emails.)

Anyhow, fast forward, today Paypal sends me an email they'd offer me a full refund ONCE I send the item to China, even though it was shipped from a warehouse in NJ. The resolution center has no other options to leave a reply or response but to give a tracking #.

I am absolutely furious at Paypal at this point. I so regretted using ebay gift card for this purchase. I'd be glad to file a dispute with my bank had I used a bank card. Chinese sellers are the new Nigerian scammer now, and shame on Paypal facilitating this scheme.
