I met a seller on Depop and only accepted PayPal private transfers due to the high fees. She didn't ship after I transferred the money, and someone told me that after she sold the product to me, she tried to sell the product to others. What can I do to get a refund?

Hi @Longcang,
I'm sorry to hear that you were convinced by someone to put yourself at risk by sending payment as if the seller were a friend or family member. The purpose of the distinction is that when the payment is done according to the guidelines and an item is expected in return for the payment, protections apply. When no item is expected, the payment can be sent without a fee, but protections do not apply. The guidelines are in place to protect you, and only when they are adhered to can you be properly protected.
I'm very sorry for the loss you experienced.
Olivia
