Account number, again

Hi, folks, I made a payment through paypal and now I returned the product. The merchant has "payment info" as SV ************1234 (last four digits changed). The four digit do not correspond to anything under my account, "SV" is also not quite recognizable (normally - it's either MC or Visa, for example). Any idea, where are those 4 digits are coming from? I just want to confirm if I am getting the money back.

thank you!

Hi @Dmitry164

Thanks for the response.

I would imagine that the 16 digit number is a credit card number. However, if the last four do not match your financials, that is a little strange. We also do not share your financial information with the merchant. I recommend contacting Customer Support with a copy of the message for further review. You can contact Customer Support on Twitter by sending DM to @AskPayPal or a PM on Facebook by going to facebook.com/PayPal. Support may also be reached by clicking 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal webpage.

I hope this is sorted out soon!

Hello @Dmitry164,

Welcome to the Community!

I'm afraid I'm not sure what "SV" is referring to in this context. However, if the merchant processes the refund through PayPal, we'll automatically return the money to your payment method used for the original transaction. You can learn more about refunds on our Help Center: Where is my refund? If you don't receive your refund, you may have the option to file a dispute

I hope you receive the refund soon!

Thanks, Meghan. I will accept the "strange" part as an explanation but I will pass on further investigation: the money I was expecting have arrived, thank you. Dmitry
