Account limitations out of nowhere & where I am at a month later. WOW.

Account randomly one day got limitations added & required me to submit business info. I submitted some proper info, some info I simply did not have & was never asked for when upgrading my paypal account to a business paypal account. The reason I upgraded was because until Corona Virus started becoming a really big issue I had planned on opening a business. Those plans sadly are still on hold. I have been harassed by customer support in the chat and told "We cant do anything. You put money in your paypal balance & that money can not be spent, or put back into your bank until you provide us with business information". I tried explaining in extreme details how and why I do not have this information, and asked can we downgrade it back to a personal paypal account or something for the time being? "Not until you provide business information". A week of this & I was fed up. I picked up the phone absolute fuming & how paypals problem, is now trying to be pinned on me. You never asked for business information & allowed me to upgrade from personal to business without business info (being proactive like I am)- Now it's my problem & my money is held ransom because I can not provide something that does not exist?

I was told after an hour long phone call on December 4th that WITHIN 10 total days (including weekends) My account limitation would be removed as my case was forwarded to a specialist according to the guy on the phone they work on them in order received but promised me the limitations would be lifted within 10 days maximum. I have yet to receive removal of account limitations and today is day 10. Again, When I updated this account to a business account. Corona virus got in the way of myself going through with opening my business irl. Paypal never asked for anything upon upgrading the account in terms of proof of business. My $ is now locked and being held ransom. My paypal account here is literally locked up for going on a good portion of a month now. I was told it was going to be removed by today so I hope I see this happen. Regardless if it is a downgrade of the account to personal, or just a limitation lift like the phone call support representative said would happen as I do plan one day to open a business but as you can probably understand corona virus is the reason I didnt. I am getting to the point where I am going to request compensation for this. This is NOT my fault. If the account upgrade process asked me for business information , and I didnt have it, I wouldnt be here in this situation right now. Your flawed system is now hindering myself & holding my money ransom. I really hope to see this lifted today I gave the benefit of the doubt. I will be calling and calling and calling all day to get to the bottom of why I am being lead on a wild goose chase & why your systems fault is pinned on myself. I will also be sharing this information with a friend who has great SEO ties with google and I can assure you there will be a story brought public about this nonsense if not solved today. I am through with waiting.

Anyone else in this boat? What an absolute joke.

Yep. Same thing happened to me. Submitted new business documents several times and nothing has been approved. What is going on at PayPal these days where they are keeping us hostage?

Me too.  Each time I submit the info they ask even though it is impossible to add documents and IDs.  Monies have been blocked for months.  I have sent endless emails, made phone calls and I am at my wits end.  Please someone help!!

Ironic this happens during tough times. Pretty apparent Paypal is hurting for money. This is disgusting. The TL;DR of their scam "We didn't require business info when upgrading accounts from personal to business before, let's just go lock peoples accounts and ask for business info and if they can't provide it AHAH free money for us" What a bunch of **bleep**ing crooks.

Send this in to drama youtube channels/news stations. I am with you on that but I am also giving all the details to a close acquaintance who will have these fraudulent **bleep** held accountable. I really don't care. It's literally nothing to open a company at a registry these days. But the fact they are being conniving **bleep** about it is absolutely **bleep**ing disgusting. I knew it couldn't only be me experiencing this. Put them on blast.

Hey has there been any updates on your side? I'm fearing I might be stuck in the same situation soon. They have asked for information, said they would get back to me in 72 hours, but it's been over 1 week and I haven't heard back (and my conversation with someone from Customer Support is labelled as "closed" on my messages)
