i have just made a purchase on e bay pay pal decides to pay by e cheque, i notice the estimated clearance date is "31 jan 1970", i phoned pay pal and all i got when i asked why was "i dont know" , anyone out there knows?

It takes around ten days to clear.
eCheques are sent when you have no secondary funding on file i.e a card, or if you have a card and it has expired.
In some cases eCheques are sent for security reason i.e you have spent a lot lately.

Hi mine says the same and always has done so i guess its a fault with paypal i wouldn't worry we are not going back in time just yet hahahaha.
once paid if you go to your transaction and click details it tells you the date it will clear there its usually about 7 or 8 days.

how embarrasing for us!
There was someone else reporting this last week, i've passed it on and hopefully we'll get it fixed soon. We can only apologise for the moment!
