Total Payment greater than Original Order

Hello all,

I have a question about one of my orders payed with Paypal. 

I placed an order at zavvi for about 120 Euro, 6 items in total. As zavvi dispatched an item to me, they also charged it from my paypal account. So, one item got delivered on July 6, Payment sent on July 6. Same thing with item from July 7. 

Now, yesterday they charged me for an item that was 'Awaiting delivery' and today when item was 'Delivered' they charged me again the same amount. So I end up being charged 2 times for same product. This is not a big deal as I am pretty sure they will fix the problem (ticket already raised at zavvi).

I have in fact a question, regarding the Total Payment and Original Order. I was charged for 4 items (1 item charged twice) and 3 were delivered to me. There are 3 more items to be delivered in the future. Original order is 120 Euro, Total Paymant 78 Euro. Can Total Payment be greater that Original Order ? Can they charge more than Original Payment was ? Cause they charge me twice for 1 item , when last order item will have to be charted the Total Payment amount will became greater that Original Order. Is this possible ?

Hey Laddu,

When you make a payment to a merchant like Zavvi the funds are not taken by them until the order is authorised. They may delay the authorisation until the item is in stock etc. It is only when the payment is authorised that he funds are released to the merchant. There should be no duplicate payments and they can choose to refund you partial refunds if items have run out or are no longer in stock. You should not be charged more that the original payment.

If you have been charged twice for a particular item I would advise you to cont Zavvi directly and request a refund for one of the items.
