sending money - us dollars

how can i find out how much in sterling a us dollar transaction is going to cost me? is there a currency converter on paypal that i can access to do this?

My apologies in advance for the long response. I taught it best to provide you with all the information that I have.

When you are making a currency conversion you will be advised of the currency exchange rate before you complete the transaction.

You can view PayPal's current exchange rates at any time by logging in to your account and accessing the Currency Converter.

1. Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account.
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click 'My money.'
4. Click ‘Currencies’ beside ‘PayPal balance.’
5. Enter the requested information and click ‘Calculate.’

Currency exchange rates are calculated at the time you:

• Send a payment in a currency different from the currency of your funding source
• Accept and automatically convert a payment to your Primary currency
• Withdraw funds in a foreign currency to a bank account
• Transfer funds between currency balances

Because we do not charge a high fixed fee for sending international payments, the total cost of sending an international payment through PayPal is lower than many international multi-currency bank transfers.
