Hello, (We would always address you by your full name as it appears on your account) As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the PayPal system. We recently contacted you after noticing an issue on your account. We requested information from you for the following reason: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. (At this point you should check your PayPal account by logging in outside of this email. You will notice there is no such email) We have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features in case your account has been accessed by an unauthorized third party. We understand that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your account is our primary concern. Case ID Number: PP-661-601-986 (I've checked and this case number is totally unrelated) This is a third and final reminder to log in to PayPal as soon as possible. (We would never put a 'final reminder' on your limitation like this) Once you log in, you will be provided with steps to restore your account access. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure account safety. In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement, your account access will remain limited until the issue has been resolved. Unfortunately, if access to your account remains limited for an extended period of time, it may result in further limitations or eventual account closure. We encourage you to log in to your PayPal account as soon as possible to help avoid this. To review your account and some or all of the information that PayPal used to make its decision to limit your account access, please visit the Resolution Center. If, after reviewing your account information, you seek further clarification regarding your account access, please contact PayPal by visiting the Help Center and clicking "Contact Us". We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please understand that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks, PayPal Account Review Department PayPal Email ID PP638 |

If you receive any email you suspect to be fraudulent and supposedly from PayPal do the following:-
Log into your PayPal account,
click on the HELP icon,
in popular solutions on right of page find and click What is ‘phishing’ and how do I report it?
this then gives the link to forward your email to spoof@paypal.com
I have received 2 emails I suspect are fraudulent in the last week!
Kindest regards
Sue

I have received 2 emails supposedly from PayPal in the last week. I have sent them an email with all the information as I think they are scams. Mine relate to credit card details being removed (I have only ever listed a debit card with them) and a problem with my account stopping a payment from coming into my account (I am not expecting any payments from the sender).
I have checked my account and see nothing untoward, so they do seem to be scammers trying to obtain information or gain access to individual accounts.
I'm sure PayPal will respond quickly and handle it accordingly.

Received what's looks like a fake email the other day...it says they have found an issue with my account that's prevented a payment from being processed and includes a link that I Haven't clicked on. Forwarded it to the necessary channels.
This came from paypal.co.uk not paypal .com and doesn't address me with my name it just says paypal as the opening heading.
I've not had issues like this from paypal before but assume that it is fake?
Apologies if I'm going over old ground and its already been covered previously.

I've been getting a lot of spoof emails over the past couple of weeks. Forwarded them all to the relevant PayPal section.
But I feel a general rule of thumb is, if it's in your Junk email folder, then it's a scam.

The scammers almost had me yesterday.
Got an email apparently from Amazon.co.uk telling me about some irregularity with my account, and it was only after I'd read it a second time that I realised there were three A's in Amazon.
Amaazon.
The buggers are getting sneaky.

Was nearly fooled by this scam email, as they managed to make their email initially appear as the official Paypal email but when you click on the email you can see it's from a bogus email. Also gave the game away without my name addressed:
PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system.
We would like to return your account to regular standing as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.
# 06 August 2013: You made a payment of 9.95 GBP to Speedyshare from your PayPal account.
If you have not authorized this charge, log in as soon as possible to cancel the payment.
www.paypal.co.uk
You will get a full refund after your payment will be cancelled.
If you made this payment and you will like to be approved just ignore this email.
PayPal is required by law to comply with European Union Anti-Money Laundering regulations by collecting information from customers, when we have any suspicion about an fraudulent payment.
These steps need to be completed within 2 days to comply with this regulation.
We appreciate your business and apologise for any inconvenience.
Although checked my account (not using their bogus link which shows up as 'apartman-euro.com/slike/red/index.html' when you hover over it) and found no charge had been made. Gotta say these scam emails are getting more and more convincing!
