pending payment

Can someone confirm please - I have a payment pending that seems to be taking forever. I have looked at the forum here - have I got this right that the item I've sold needs to be receieved before I get my money?

 

If so thats so wrong!  So we pay for postage and gamble that the buyer is going to pay up?

Hi traciec,

 

This is not correct. We will never request you to ship your item until your payment has completed in to your PayPal account. There may be times were we may hold your transaction if we require more information but this would only happen on completed payments.

 

Never ship out your item until the status of your payment shows as completed.

can you please help me.  I have received payments into paypal that have never been received in my bank account.  i have posted goods out thinking that when paypal said complete that the funds were received.

 

is there something i have to do to get the money into my account???

 

i have also made payments but they haven't come out of my account either although the seller has sent the goods!!

I wouldn’t panic; payments made to you go straight to your PayPal balance. You have to manually withdraw them from that balance. Should they not be withdrawn and you make a payment, the funds for the payment will be taken from those funds that were in your PayPal balance.

 

When you use PayPal to send money, we always attempt to take the funds from your PayPal account balance first. If you have no PayPal balance, or not enough to cover the whole transaction, the remainder will be taken from your bank account. If you don’t have a bank account confirmed with PayPal, your debit or credit card will be charged instead.

The payment method hierarchy is as follows:

1. PayPal Balance.
2. Instant Bank Transfer.
3. Credit or Debit Card.
4. eCheque.

The default payment method cannot be changed on your account but can be changed per transaction. To change the payment method for a transaction, click the 'Change' or 'More Funding Options' link on the final page during the Send Money process and select a different payment method.
