I am selling an item on ebay and someone wants me to give them a "Buy now," price. I have agreed and asked for a £50 deposit to be made to my Paypal account. I have received an email claiming that the money has been deposited but when I log on to my Pay Pal account, I can not see it. The person is certain that it has been sent. The only way it seems I can claim the money is if I use a link which purports to be a Ebay site but I have received from the buyers email address. It all looks rather suspect. Is it possible that the money has been sent and that I need to claim it?

Hi there joe01,
This email does not sound like it is from PayPal, never click on any links in an email and enter your personal information.
If you received the payment then you would see it the minute you log into your PayPal account. If you want further clarification you can contact us directly and we will be happy to review further.
