Can't send money FROM overseas, yet I can send money to someone overseas. HELP!

This may sound stupid but hopefully someone can help. These are the facts.. I have a verified UK account (GBP), with a UK address. I have funds / access to funds in the account. I am currently in Australia. I want to buy something which is in UK. (GBP) It won't let me, it says I need to add funds. There are suffient funds already. I can ( and have just so) send GBP to someone I know here in Australia, (obviously this incurs a fee) I have logged on to PayPal .co uk, and to .com.au - neither allow me to buy English things. So my question is , why can't I buy something in England, using my English PayPal English bank account yet I can use it to send money to OZ. This seems so stupid.

Hi Richdownunder, 

From reading your post it sounds like your payments are being declined. When a payment is declined on your PayPal account it can be PayPal's internal security system declining your payment or it can be your card issuer declining your payment. As I am unable to view your account I am unable to determine which one it is. 

If it is our internal security system I would recommend that you log in at a later stage and re-try the payment or  use a different card/bank to fund the payment if possible. If it is your card issuer (you will see the declined payments on your transaction history) then you will need to contact your card issuer for clarification on the denial.
