Bank account funding REF number - same all the time ????

Hi I'm currently reviewing my bank statements and Paypal funding. When I make a payment or fund my paypal account a ref is shown on the bank statement - this appears to be the same reference each time I make a payment - but when I download my history ID showing for that payment is different, Is this right ??? BUT Payment made to me via paypal have a different ref number and these appear to change each time ???

When you are making payment, the ref is your Direct Debi ref which doesn't change everytime. When you download your history on your PayPal account, you are referring to transaction ID which belong to that particular transaction which has nothing to do with the ref on your bank statement.

This is fine, the reference numbers you are referring to are bank reference numbers that will show on your bank statement.

Through PayPal each payment will have a unique transaction ID which will be different to this reference number.

With ragards to the bank referance numbers on my statement when I fund my paypal account or pay someone the referance code is always the same - but when I recieve a payment this number always changes is this right ???
