Hey everybody!
Join the PayPal Community Forums moderation team in our semi-weekly Community Chat on Friday, August 24th, from 4-5pm GMT.
Our moderator staff will be here to answer your questions regarding PayPal. This thread will remain locked until the chat is open, so if you have a question you'd like to see answered by the community before then, please feel free to post a topic by clicking on "Post a Topic" and selecting the appropriate board. As always, PayPal customer service can be reached by clicking on "Contact Us" and selecting help via phone or email.
How Community Chat works:
The chat opens at 4pm GMT. Once the chat is open, PayPal Community members may participate and ask questions by using the "Reply to topic" button.
In order to post in the chat, you must be a PayPal Community member. If you'd like email updates on the chat, click the "Options" menu and select Subscribe.
During the chat, PayPal Moderators will answer general PayPal questions in real-time.
At 5pm GMT, the chat will close and lock. Any questions that have not yet been responded to by a moderator or employee will receive a response within the following hour.
Please feel free to RSVP to the chat by clicking "Me too" at the bottom of this post. See you then!

Hello martin, a few weeks ago someone got access to my paypal account and made some transactions of a few hundred euros, i tried loging in few days ago to my account to try and resolve this and it seemed that it didnt exist, im trying to direct contact paypal with emails but i cant seem to be able to get an answer since they are not responding.. I had to recreate my account with the same email but of course since its a new account i cant see the past transactions..
Any way to guide me through this?

First of all, I am sorry to hear this has happened. It would seem that there was third-party access to your account and the perpetrator closed the account after they made the transactions. As you have opened a new account, there will be no historical activity on it.
In this case, you can do two things to report this activity. You can contact through the Help section of your actual account by either phone or email or contact us on Social Media. You can use the following links contacting us, or reaching out to us on Facebook or Twitter so that we can look more closely into the issue.
We can still report the activity and refund the funds taken once we confirmed the third party access.

So the refund is still achieveable if the other guy has already taken the money? as i said its been a few weeks since this happened and sadly i realised too late

hi martin,
I have had my account limited and they wanted to confirm my ID, all of which I have sent but they haven't lifted the limitation and I have to do it again. I spent an hour on hold on the phone and have contacted them on twitter and via DM but no has replied all day. this account is a business account and I need the limitation lifted asap as its hindering my business,

I understand this is frustrating and the urgency of the issue. Unfortunately, I cannot take any direct actions on an account through contacts on this platform.
