It says I need a phone number but I already have one on file but when I try and use the one that’s on file it says I can’t use one that’s not registered to my name

If you are receiving this message then it is most likely that the phone number you are trying to use is registered on another PayPal account. I would recommend to think if you have any old PayPal accounts or check with family members to see if they may have registered your phone number to their account.
