Hi
I opened my PayPal account 7 years ago when I was living in Ireland and hardly used it. I have been living in the UK since 2008 and recently started to use PayPal for Airbnb payments when I rent my flat out.
Now I cannot withdraw my money because my current address is not in the country in which I opened my account. I had not idea that I had to close my account and open a new one when I returned to the UK.
How can I sort this out to withdraw the funds currently sitting in my account? This is a nightmare!

Hi there Jackie-Ma.
Welcome to the Community!
If you have moved country, you would need to create a new account where you currently live at the moment. It's not currently possible to change the country that your PayPal account has been created in.
When you create a new account in the country that you currently live in, you will be able to add and confirm financial information in the country that you are now living in. Then you will be able to receive an withdraw funds to your local bank account without any difficulties.

Hi,
I set up my account in Ireland and moved to the UK so i do not have an Irish bank account anymore. If i need to set up a new account can you transfer the funds from my Irish account to my UK account for free? I do not want to have to pay a fee to move my own money
Thanks

Hi Mattyz69.
Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.
You will need to set up a UK account if you are now living there. I am afraid it is not possible to transfer the money for free. You can use the personal payment option and will then only be charge a cross border fee for sending the money rather than a receiving fee. The other option you have is to spend on the money on your Irish account rather than transfer it.
If you know someone else with an Irish account who can withdraw the money for you, you could also send them a free personal payment and they can process the withdrawal.
I hope this helps.
Rachael
