update card details

I have been trying for days to update my card details, but paypal is having none of it. Not impressed! Ebay is threatening me with action if I don't pay, and of course I can't if I can't update the expiry on my card!!!! Have tried phoning but number is not recognised (I live in Germany and can't phone the German helpdesk as my language skills are not yet advanced enough). The email a question is also not working 😞 Getting very frustrated now!

Hi there Sarahughes,

 

When you are trying to update the card on your account, what is the error message that you are being given on the website. Have you been issued with a new card with the same card number but with a different expiry date and CVV2 number?

 

If this is the case, you should be able to update the information without any problems on your account. Another possibility is that your bank could be refusing our request to register the card when you are trying to add it to your account.

 

What you could try to do is remove the card that is already on your PayPal account. From here, you can then try to register your new card with the information that is on your new card.

 

Please let me know if you are still having difficulties.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but it didn't work and now I have no bank details attached to my account! I'm just going to sack paypal altogether, apart from you no one else has replied or is even bothered about any problems. They obviously don't care about their customer service. Thanks again for your help, its much appreciated.

hello, im having some problems with adding a new card, the card number and expirey date was out dated, so i tryed adding in the new card number and expirey date but it wouldnt update how do i update my card details?

 

so i then tryed removing the card and add in the new details of my card, but it says That bank account is already assigned to another PayPal account. For security purposes, each bank account may only be assigned to one PayPal account. Please use a different bank account.

Hi again,

 

If the expiry date has passed on the old card that was registered, the system would remove the card from your account. The only way that this can be reset is if you contact customer services directly but I realise this has caused you problems as you are in Germany.

 

You could try contacting the UK phone number if you wish, the number is 08707 307 191 and we would be able to assist you further with this,

 

Also, if you have received a new card with a new card number, you would need to remove your old card and then register the new card on your profile. This can be done through the Profile page on your PayPal account.

I have had the same problem repeatedly since PayPal forced me to get their credit card; they make it very hard (and occasionally impossible) to use my Visa card instead of theirs, even though I'd bought many $000s of merchandise w/ my card w/o any issues.

Now they send e-mails telling me to update my expiration date, but the website is broken.  Multiple e-mails and calls (half of which ended w/ their rep hanging up on me) w/o any resolution.  Now they say there's a 'glitch' for 'certain customers' and there's no expected resolution date.

I have many hours invested in trying to fix the 'glitch' w/o any success.

I believe they're deliberately forcing all customers to use their cards or force us out of the system.  They cannot be trusted, and it looks like the only resolution will be to cancel the account and start from scratch w/ a new account.

Unless someone can figure a way to break through their wall of denial we're all going to be victimized.  Their behavior betrays their intent to be a big fee-driven bank - just like those other companies that feed on the consumer.

This is not a trivial issue.  PayPal has decided that they'd rather control the cash flow than serve customers and sellers.  They're building a monopoly payment service and every seller and buyer must accept their onerous behavior.  Or we need to force them to be ethical.  If they get away with this we'll all suffer.

i aggree with whats been said about paypal card updates. mine has expired and i keep getting emails from them..But try and find a page ?? ha ,you would think there would be a simple klick on button!! if there is i have yet to find it.come on paypal get with it!!!!
