I have had the same problem repeatedly since PayPal forced me to get their credit card; they make it very hard (and occasionally impossible) to use my Visa card instead of theirs, even though I'd bought many $000s of merchandise w/ my card w/o any issues. Now they send e-mails telling me to update my expiration date, but the website is broken. Multiple e-mails and calls (half of which ended w/ their rep hanging up on me) w/o any resolution. Now they say there's a 'glitch' for 'certain customers' and there's no expected resolution date. I have many hours invested in trying to fix the 'glitch' w/o any success. I believe they're deliberately forcing all customers to use their cards or force us out of the system. They cannot be trusted, and it looks like the only resolution will be to cancel the account and start from scratch w/ a new account. Unless someone can figure a way to break through their wall of denial we're all going to be victimized. Their behavior betrays their intent to be a big fee-driven bank - just like those other companies that feed on the consumer. This is not a trivial issue. PayPal has decided that they'd rather control the cash flow than serve customers and sellers. They're building a monopoly payment service and every seller and buyer must accept their onerous behavior. Or we need to force them to be ethical. If they get away with this we'll all suffer.
