Moved from UK to Australia

Hi,

I just moved to Australia want to purchase items on the Australian Ebay. The address on my ebay account has been changed but I still want to use my UK bank card on purchases. Do I have to close my UK account or can I just leave it as any items will be sent to my Australian address on my ebay account.

It's not possible at this time for a customer to change the country that your PayPal account is registered in. If you have moved from the UK to Australia, you would need to register a PayPal account in Australia and you could keep your UK PayPal account open if you plan to return to the UK in the future.

We have just sold our UK House after living in Australia for over 15 months. It seems we are knackered now we have an Australian address with Paypal because the website will not let us change our address for our credit cards which have already been changed now to our new Australian address . What do we do as I have tried opening a new account with paypal au but when we try to complete registration it tells us we already have an account and diverts back to the UK Paypal information. It seems I may have to delete email addresses and then register it again with Paypal AU. Even then I am unsure if this will work. Help Please

Welcome to the PayPal community forum. New members are always welcome.

As PayPal is country specific when you move country you would need  to open a new account. The best thing to do is to log in to your own PayPal account and remove your financial information. Once all your information has been removed you should then close your PayPal account. Once it has been closed, you can then open a new account in Australia using the same email address.

Can you please tell me if this is still the case. You can not change paypal accounts between countries.

I have jsut been reimbursed from airbnb into a UK pypal account and I no longer have access to my UK bank card which was linked to this account as I have been back in Australia for 4 years. Is it possible to add an australian bank account or card to transfer the credit out of the UK paypal account?

If you are going to be using a 'card' direct with Ebay and not Paypal then you need to ask on the Ebay forums as this has nothing to do with paypal.
