Having read other threads and posts I suspect I know the answer to this problem but hope I'm wrong.
Have had a Paypal account for over 20 years. It was originally set up in the Uk, but when we moved to France it just came with me. I didn't, at the time, have to close it down and open a French one. My British debit card was attached to it and all I did was add my new French card and add a French bank account. Over the years, things have evolved and I now seem to have a French Paypal account by default to which I cannot add my UK bank account, although until now, I have been able to attach a UK debit card (vital, as most of my Paypal purchases are from the Uk and i don't want to lose out on exchange rates whenIi have a perfectly good UK account)
I last successfully updated the card details in October 2014 when the previous card expired, but after a suspected skim of my card the bank have just issued me a new one with a different number, and I cannot add it to my Paypal account. To clarify, it is a card issued by my UK bank which is registered to my French address.
Is this why I now cannot add it to the account?
