missing deposit

I supposedly received payment for an item bought through my eCrater store and paid with paypal by the customer. My PP account had not been verified yet. Would that step prevent a deposit from landing in my account? I have not seen this payment and wonder where to look for the missing money. Should I tell the customer to stop payment or whatever at his end?

Welcome to the boards!

The  bottom line is if you don't see the payment in your account, it's not there.  Forward the notification you received on to spoof@paypal.com to make sure it really came from PayPal.

If it isn't a fake email, ask your buyer to cancel it and then manually resend.  While you're reaching out to them, ask which email address it was sent to.

If you still have access to this email address, add and confirm it on your PayPal account to accept the payments. This has to be done within 30 days of the payments being made or they are automatically returned.

If you don't have access to this email address, you'll want to ask your buyers to cancel their payments so that they can manually send it to your new email address via the Send Money tab. Make sure you reach out to them and let them know what to do, and provide them your new email address. You may want to ask for theirs if you are sending them a money request via PayPal to help facilitate the new payment.

While I'm not familiar with eCrater, I'm wondering if they just asked you to enter an email address for PayPal.  If that's how they set it up there, check the email they have down and edit it there.

Hope this helps,

Adrian
