missing funds?

i dont sell much on the internet so i hadnt noticed this before today:

 

i recently sold an item and the seller paid, i got the emails and everything

 

a few days later i got a refund from newegg on an order i cancelled

 

on my account page, i can see the funds into paypal - but my paypal balance is $0

 

?

 

any clue what this could be about, all my other payments have been from my bank account, so it's not like the money has been withdrawn by me buying things from ebay

 

but basically no matter who sends me money, my paypal balance stays at $0

I had 2 payments today and had not spend any, yet my funds are 0, send an email to paypal

this morning, no answer yet.........they where instant payments too.

Hey everyone,

 

It's possible these payments are on hold.  I would recommend checking your History page to see what the current status of the payments. 

 

If they are on hold, you should see a prompt to ship the item now.  The funds would then be placed into your account balance after we can show delivery to the buyer, the buyer leaves positive feedback, or 21 days pass with no dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal.

I have gone to my history after four payments being approved by paypal to my account and still no info.  What is going on?

Please advise.

me777 and Cherylpta - do you see a pending balance on your account?  is your email address confirmed?  are you sure the emails telling you have a payment are truly from PayPal, and not from someone who wants you to ship without actually paying you?  check out www.paypal.com/fightphishing for more information on fake emails.

 

Roxanne79 - if you originally paid via a Instant Transfer, and the merchant refunded you fairly quickly, it's possible the original bank transfer is still running in the background.  You see, all bank transfers in PayPal take three to four business days (holidays/weekends don't count).  With an Instant Transfer, however, PayPal fronts the money to your seller while we wait for the bank transfer.  This lets you get the item sooner.  However, if the merchant refunds you while the bank transfer is still processing in the background, PayPal can't yet provide you the money you sent - it hasn't technically shown up yet.  Once it does, we'll place it in your balance, and you can then withdraw them or use them for other purchases.  You might also check the status of the refund itself - if it says pending, it means the merchant had to initiate a bank transfer and it could take three to four business days to show up.

I am the seller and this person wants me to take and aaWestern Union the shipping costs to their mover. Now the person didi include it in my acct but until i take personal money go do the western union it seems that the funds do not show up at all. I am not comfortable with this.

With PayPal, when you receive a payment, it will always be viewable on your account overview - even if it's being withheld from your balance.

 

If it's not there, this individual likely isn't being truthful with you.

 

I think your unease is right on the money, here.  Or the lack thereof, really.  Smiley Happy

 

To me, this sounds like another variation on the common advanced fee fraud trends we see on the internet.  I would recommend taking a gander around our Fraud and Phishing forum; there are some great examples there.  Or, google "Nigerian Scam" for more examples.

received an email today for an instant oayment. have checked several times today and no funds on my acct. what do you do nect to resolve this?

I have the same problem.  I received a refund this morning, but my account reads $0.  It says the transaction is completed, so I don't understand what I'm waiting for.
