If you can get in touch with Customer Solutions before the check is actually sent, the check withdrawal may be able to be stopped. You can call or email, but I would recommend calling for a better shot at catching it before it goes out. You can also try contacting via Twitter to the @AskPayPal handle. The response time on that is variable depending on the time of day and the amount of contact volume, but I'd say it's currently somewhere between calling and emailing for speed, especially in the evenings.
