Iv just checked my account and noticed a claim has been made against me, an 'unautorised claim'. I have been paid 538 dollars by somebody iv never heard of and there is no information telling me what the money is for.

on the same day as the payment was made somebody tried to withraw 320 pounds ( the exchange rate) into my bank account but this is now 'reversed; in the status.

Im really confused, is the person who paid me the money the hacker or someone else?because in the claim message it says ''The buyer has issued a claim stating this transaction was made without the account holder’s knowledge or consent.''

Baffled to be honest, not really sure how to even explain it, I bet this makes no sense at all!

Hi there Loren1987,

You may have had this issue resolved by now but it sounds to me that you may have received a payment from another person who's PayPal account may have been accessed by an unauthorised third party. When this payment was received in to your PayPal account, the third party then gained access to your PayPal account, added a bank account and then tried to withdraw the funds to the newly added bank account.

You should check your Profile to see if there is a newly registered bank account. If there is, you should try remove the information. If the case is still on going, you should try to respond to the case and issue a refund back to the senders account. Apart from that, you should also update your password and security questions and try completing a full scan on your home computer to see if there is any malicious software present.

I hope this helps,

David.
