Subscription renewal.

If I pay an annual subscription by PayPal, can the "Supplier" withdraw a following years subscription without my knowledge ?
Or does every payment have to be individually authorised ?

Is an automatic annual renewal an option with PayPal ?
My question is raised because my subscription to a PC cleaning software has been renewed.
Payment was made via PayPal in November and I can't remember "physically" renewing the subscription.
If there is some sort of "standing instruction" somewhere, I would like to revoke it, as I do not like auto renewals>

Hi there Cranfield,
It sounds to me like you have signed up to an annual subscription on the merchants site, this can happen and may not always be that obvious.
Here is where you can cancel/update any subscriptions you have created:
- Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
- On the left side of the page, select 'My money'.
- Click 'Update' beside 'My pre-approved payments'.
- Select the 'Merchant Name' for the Billing Agreement you want to cancel.
- Click 'Cancel'.
