Please beaware  that I have today received an email which is supposed to be from HMRC stating a payment is to be made and for me to confirm. I did think this was a scam of some sorts so I checked it out. and where it asked for me to confirm receipt of the Payment  I did sign in and I was faced with an web site which was not available. WWW.Krasair.net.

I also noted that looking at the email to see where it came from was linked to pay pal. I have spoken to HMRC and they confirmed it was a phishing and gave me the internal email to forward it on to there secruitiy department. BE AWARE

There are a few ways to spot a scam email, having a link that asks for personal information is one of the biggest give aways but also if the email doesn't address you by your full name it is also  sign of a scam. Any emails starting 'Dear Customer' or 'Dear PayPal user' are not from PayPal.

If you forward the email on to spoof@paypal.co.uk you can get a notification confirming if it is a fake email or not.

Always check your PayPal account in a separate window rather than clicking any links, if you see no evidence of any limitations or payments then it is likely that it is also a scam to.

Just to be safe, regularly change your Password and Security Questions on PayPal.
