Scam warning !!

I have also just received a scam email, after advertising some furniture on ebay I was contacted by Nicola Brown who said she was working on an oil rig but wanted to buy the unit ure for someone who really needed it the total was £850 but she said she had put £1270 into PayPal and I was to send £400 cash to money gram to pay the courier, the email was almost word for word the same as was the spoof confirm at ion I recited from PayPal,  I was suspicious from the start as it Al,  seemed too good to be true, so all of you out there be very careful of these lowlife people ....

Thank you so much for posting this. I am currently speaking to the same Nicola Brown and was suspicious so googled "her" name.

I also want to warn people out there. This buyer contacted me after advertising an item on Gumtree. "She" seemed very pushy and said she wanted me to assume the sale was to go through and for me to take the advert down straightaway and she would pay the full amount.

I asked for her method of payment to be a bank transfer and she said she could only do paypal then told me she couldn't contact a courier and sent extra money for me to personally deposit cash into Moneygram under a man's name who lives in France. The funds she sent to my paypal account wouldn't go through until the Monegram deposit was paid.
I'm going to refund her immediately and report the user. I hope no one is falling for this.

Hi, I'm selling furniture on gumtree and had an email from a keith aidan who's working offshore on an oil rig, he's stated he's paid money into my PayPal account and could I transfer money to a moneygram account in the name of a man who lives in France. I've received an e-mail allegedly from PayPal stating the funds have been transferred into my account.......low and behold no funds in PayPal...total scam!

This guy is messaging me right now about furniture too. He's thinks I'm stupid. The way he is working his messages is so obviously a scam. He also text me and it came up as 'keith' rather than a number.. that was my first alarm.

I received a reply from keith aiden working on oil rig wanting to buy furniture I had advertised.he would send a courier as he was unable to pick up I haven't informed pay pal number is it a scam

Hello, thank goodness for your posts !  I have just received a text from a Stella Wayne working on an oil rig , 100% happy with my advert and the price but cannot view it in person,  want the furniture for a family desparately in need of it so will send a courier , , was going along with it and then happened to come across your comments.     Text message did not have a contact number to reply on,  only an email contact and asking me for all of my paypal details  which I have not given and have now blocked their email.  Thank you !!

Just had same scam attempt from "Stella Wayne" on the oil rig.  December and still going strong.  Must'nt be much else to do out there 😉 Watch out!

I had a text this morning from Keith Aidan, asking me if the furniture I'd advertised was still available and asking me to email him, which I did.  I asked where he saw it advertised but his reply was the same as all the others about the oil rig, courier, etc. etc. but no mention of where he saw the advert.  I Googled his name and up came all these other 'victims' so thank you everyone!  Needless to say, I am NOT removing my advert.!!  Also, I will not be replying and will block him from my email system.  Not sure how I can block him from my basic mobile though so will just delete.
