Hi, I am hoping someone out there can give me some advice as I am getting absolutely no where with PayPal. On Sunday 3rd December I added funds to the amount of £400 to my PayPal account from my linked bank account using exactly the same process as I have done many many times before with absolutely no issues. I needed to pay for a large item via PayPal (not an Ebay sale) hence the need to add funds.
The £400 left my bank account instantly but, checking PayPal it had not arrived. I have checked several times and still no £400. Speaking to my bank they confirmed the funds had left and the payment had been made to PayPal.
I then called PayPal and was told that it must have been an error on my part and I had used the incorrect account and reference numbers. This was definitely NOT the case and I even uploaded a screen shot of the transaction from my bank account clearly showing the funds had left and the reference numbers and account numbers.
Paypal then said they would email me confirmation of receipt of the screen shot and also confirmation that they would be investigating where the funds had gone. I have not received an email from them and it has been over 24 hours!
I have contacted my bank again and their hands are tied as as far as they are concerned the funds have left my account and gone into the PayPal account - note: using their faster payments system which is instant.
So I am faced with the loss of £400 which PayPal are saying they cannot find???!!!! Aside from speaking to the fraud team at my bank or the police what can I do?
