How to be auto logged out after being directed to Paypal from Ebay.
My prob is that after paying for an Ebay item I am auto returned to Ebay without being logged out of my Paypal acc..
Sequence..
I buy an ebay item .. get directed to Paypal where I log in.. pay for item.. paypal auto closes and returned to Ebay.. BUT I am not logged out of Paypal !!
All I get from Ebay is " If you dont wish to have to login to your Paypal acc then use faster checkout"
Scratches head... I want to HAVE TO login to Paypal and removing this makes it even less secure..
Is there a profile option where I am auto signed out if I leave the Paypal site?
Thanks..
edit: I have not got Ebay setup as auto login on Paypal.. I think thats what its called .

PayPal has an inactivity feature built in, it will log you out after a period of time. Don't know the exact amount of time but, is there a no activity for severl minutes, the system will log you out. Even the community forum does that. There no profile auto logout features or options for you to change or set.

Hello,
Totally agree with first poster. Surely this is a security flaw. I`d like a logout button on PPal "completed purchase page" that I have to click on, rather than relying on an auto logout thingy (even if one exists). I`ve had a moan a few times to Ebay with the expected result (no response), and I`ve tried having a moan to PPal but am struggling to get any comms going.
After an Ebay purchase I now open another tab, click on PPal (where it shows me as still logged on), then logout from there. It works but relies on me remembering to do the procedure. Oh well......

I agree with the other posters. I want to log in to use my account and I want to be able to log out when I am finished. Auto log out should be an added safety feature for when I get called away for a moment that turns into an hour. I also don't like the adding of pay later features as preferred method without clear warning first. In fact ask first then allow us to use the features if we choose to, not have to find out how to get rid of it.

I can't believe more people aren't asking for this problem to sorted. I can only assume they aren't aware of it (I only became aware of it after I happened to go to Paypal some time after buying something on eBay).
For a company that was set up to give consumer more security it seems daft that this loop hole is left wide open. Do you think that the reason this problem isn't being addressed is the fact that eBay (PayPal's owners?) want people to sign up for their auto-payment scheme so are leaving this issue unresolve as it will force people's hands?

Hi, I have ha the same problem, and it is disconcerting . I have dealt with this buy going back to PayPal after a purchase and manually loging out. It's a pain but I like the security of having it closed immediately.

I have just sent a complaint to PayPal regarding the auto return problem where you are left logged in to your account when redirected back to the seller's site. In my experience it takes several minutes of inactivity before being automatically logged out which is totally unacceptable when using a public computer.
