Won't unlink bank card

Why won't it let me unlink a bank card days cans try later and it's been weeks

Be sure there is another primary card or bank account approved for payment before you try to remove the card.

You cannot unlink if the card in question is the primary backup payment source.

I did that but it still wouldn't let me unlink bank account. I am planning on paying off account and close it soon and don't want my bank account linked to it once it is closed
