Why does the login security screen request to send me a text message with a code every single time I log into the app or website?

Just a guess here but, it sounds like you have the Security Key feature enabled - to check:

Login to your Account.
Click on the "Gear" icon.
You should see a second menu - Account   Security  Payments  Notifications
Click on "Security".
You should see "Security Key".
Click on "Update".
(You can disable the setting.)

I get Gear > Profile & Settings > My Settings > Security Key (Update) > then "Remove" the mobile phone listed. Just spins, nothing happens. Tried texting STOP to to the SMS listed and NOW I still have 2-part login (text code reqd) but stopped receiving the texts!!!
