Permanently remove Email address in order to link to a new account

Hello,

I am having an issue trying to create a new account. My old one had an e-mail address linked to it that I want to use as my primary e-mail address for the new account. I went to my e-mail settings on the old account, selected another e-mail address as primary and removed the one that I want to use for the new account. It's no longer showing up on the list and theoretically I would be able to use it to create a new account. Makes sense, right?

The problem is, it doesn't work for some reason. Even though I have removed that e-mail from the list in the old accound, when I try to create a new account using that e-mail, the site tells me that I already have an account linked to it and offers to login using it.

It is incredibly frustrating, as I have changed countries and expecting a payment in a few days that should come to the e-mail in question.

Please, help me resolve this issue.

Regars,

Sergey Mohov

Unfortunately you're trying to think logical, PayPal is not logical sometimes.   You can try contacting customer support for assistance, if you get the right person, they can probably help you out.  Your other option, use a new email address.

I am having the same issue and the "customer support" is basically non existent because all I got was a reply from a computer telling me how to update my account....which I had already done. I resent an email and I am yet to get a response on that one.

You aren't even allowed to open a new account of the same type. Each person is allowed one personal and one premier or business account.
