refund to buyer

i just refunded to buyer 40$ and it says ive refunded to him "full refunded" but the buyer cant see his refund on his paypal , can some 1 guide me to tell my buyer how to claim his refund?

1. Did he get an email to say the refund was made?

2. How did he FUND the paypal payment that was refunded?
