help understanding what to do when reporting a problem

A few days ago I reported an issue with a seller not getting me my item. I wrote the seller and on my dashboard it shows that I have an unresolved issue. According to the status it says I have a message from the seller but all I see when I click on the link all I see is my initial letter to the seller and no return reply am I doing something incorrect?

look into resolution center/open case and see if the response is there?
