Hello I just wanted to make sure that I am definetly covered when sending a payment on paypal. I'm trying to buy a person's Iphone x, whom I met on the app letgo. I was just wondering if there is some way to cover my tracks and ensure I'm not scammed before I send off a large amount of money.

I am not familiar with that app, but does it have a review system? Does the person you're buying from have a good history of sales with positive reviews? If so, then it's probably safe. I would ask them to send you a PayPal invoice for the item, and make sure when you submit the payment that you include a shipping address. Also, I would use a credit card as the funding source of the payment.
With this procedure, PayPal will offer buyer protection, and if anything does go wrong you could always dispute the transaction with your credit card company. The seller would then need to provide proof of shipment and delivery via a tracking number, and if they can't provide that you would get your money back.
